This time I decided to try out a few lip sticks from a new cosmetics line called Colourpop Cosmetics. They are based out of California and the make vegan safe cosmetics. The best part is, the colors are HYPER pigmented, in beautiful packaging, and everything on their site (including eyeshadow) is only $5.
Yes that's right.
While prices that low generally make you a little skeptical, I took it upon myself to bite the bullet for my clients and volunteer models and I am in love. I have pictures of myself wearing the four lip colors that I bought in my first round of purchases from this company as well as one extra treat from a different company at the end! Enjoy!
I also obtained a Lip Tar from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics in the color Feathered. I have to say that I feel that this is STRICTLY PHOTO SHOOT MAKEUP. It is EXTREMELY HEAVILY PIGMENTED, comes in a tube and you have to paint them on. Once you paint this lip tar on, the color is true to how it looks in every advertisement and inside of the packaging. It smells like you are painting your lips with actual acrylic paint. Not the best smell in the world, but it sits on your lips VERY lightweight. I got the white because I couldn't choose between the other colors, and at best, this would be a very strange and rare color for a fashion-type shoot. Also, I feel it would make a good base for drawing on top of it or sticking things (thinks glitters or sprinkles) to it. While this does look strange on me in this context, I am impressed with it's pigment and can't wait to find a use for it. :]
As I get more makeup for the studio I will test them and post about them here. As always, I will never put anything on anyone that I wouldn't put on myself (or my fiancé). Did you have any specific questions about the lip colors that I tried? Have you tried colourpop or OCC yet? Is there a color you would like for me to try and obtain?
Let me know in the comments !
